Worthy Faithful Navigators and Faithful Color Corps Commanders,
I’m following up on my e-mail, same subject, from September 12. Please share this with your Assembly members.
The Most Reverend Barry C. Knestout, Bishop of the Diocese of Richmond, will be celebrating the 5:00pm Mass at St. Stephen, Martyr Roman Catholic Church (SSMRCC) on Saturday October 22nd. The Bishop will be at SSMRCC that day to break ground on our parish expansion project and to officially install our new Priest, Father Charles “The Giant” Ssebalamu.
Father Charles has asked us to provide an Honor Guard for Bishop Knestout at the 5:00pm Mass, similar to what we did for Bishop Jjumba in July.
We would like to have as many Sir Knights as possible wearing ORD with swords and service baldrics, if you have it, or social dress uniform if not.
Please let me (jonerix@aol.com or fn2185@vakofc.org) know ASAP if you’re able to participate.
If you’re going to participate in the Honor Guard, please also plan on attending a rehearsal at SSMRCC (1544 S. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23322) on Tuesday October 4th at 6:30pm. Dress code for the rehearsal will be casual, but those who will be wearing ORD to the Mass should bring their berets, swords, service baldrics, and white gloves to the rehearsal.
Thank you, Brothers!
Vivat Jesus!
– Jon Rix,
FN, All Saints Assembly 2185
PS…So far, we have myself and SK Bob James from Fr. Habets Assembly 1505 signed up. We’re going to need quite a few more, or it’s not going to be much of an Honor Guard! Also, 2185’s Faithful Color Corps Commander Ramon is going to be out of town, so we’ll need someone with CCC experience to take the reins…please let me know if you’d like to take on the CCC duties for this Mass…first come, first served!
